Meet the participants of the Masterclass for Young Singers 2023. Each one of them have been carefully selected by the jury. Among a variety of very talented singers, these seven candidates stood out.
We are looking forward to meeting them all at the University Aula in Bergen 28th of may.
The International Masterclass for young singers is a collaboration between the Bergen International Festival, The Grieg Academy – Department of Music (UiB), and the Norwegian Academy of Music.
This masterclass will give seven young singers the opportunity to work with the Norwegian soprano and artist Lise Davidsen, joined by the renowned chamber musician and pianist James Baillieu.
Lise Davidsen is the artist in residence at the 2023 Bergen International Festival.
The Masterclass will be open to the public as part of the Bergen International Festival programme, in Bergen, Norway on May 28th 2023.

The working sessions
The participants get 20 min individual instruction with Lise Davidsen, where she will focus on interpretation. The singers are asked to prepare one of the three art songs from their chosen repertoire.
The working sessions will be held in English, and Lise Davidsen is looking forward to meet you.
Three lieder of your choice from the repertoire of Edvard Grieg, Richard Strauss and Jean Sibelius. Original language is required.
